Cloud-Based Servers:

What is a “cloud-based server”? Cloud-based servers, also known as “Virtual Private Servers” or “Virtual Dedicated Servers” utilize a shared server hardware environment. The hardware is usually owned and maintained by a third-party and located in a data center. The sharing of the server hardware is accomplished with virtualization software allowing multiple, separate “virtual private servers” to operate on the same hardware platform. New virtual servers can be configured and created quickly, and server performance specifications (memory, processing power) can be increased or decreased on the fly, as needs dictate. If the server is no longer needed, it’s simply removed from the virtual server platform, and the monthly costs stop. No wasted hardware costs, no leftover or unused hardware. It is a highly efficient and very flexible solution.
